Wome to return!

According to some reports Pierre Wome is keen on a return to the Premiership with Fulham among the names linked.

The Cameroon international is available on a free transfer after departing German giants Werder Bremen.

And the 29-year-old, who had a brief spell with Fulham in 2002, is thought to be on Roy Hodgson`s list to strengthen his team for the new season.

Schwarzer signs!

Fulham Football Club has announced the signing of Australian international goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer on a two year deal that will see the player at the club until the summer of 2010.

The 35 year-old began his professional career at the age of 19 with Marconi Stallions, in the National Soccer League. After spells at Dynamo Dresden, FC Kaiserslautern and Bradford City, Schwarzer joined Middlesbrough in April 1997. He is considered a large contributor to the recent success of Middlesbrough and an important part of the team.

Schwarzer made his international debut against Canada in Edmonton in a 1994 World Cup qualifier and after numerous appearances for the Socceroos was instrumental in Australia's qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, in the play-off against Uruguay. After Uruguay won the first leg 1–0 in Montevideo, Australia won 1–0 in Sydney. Most recently, Schwarzer saved an 89th minute Shao Jiayi penalty against China in Australia's 0–0 draw in the 2010 World Cup qualifier in March 2008, continuing his fine record of stopping penalty kicks.

Finnan to return.

Press today have said today that fans favourite Steve Finnan is likely to be brought back by Roy.

Finnan lost his first team place at Liverpool this season after playing only 5 games since March.

The 32 year old now looks to have dropped further after Liverpool signed Degen. It has been heard Rafa will sell the Irish international for somewhere in the region of £million.

How dissapointing!

Now I know it is off the topic of Fulham but I hope some of you will agree with me. It made me feel so happy when Ronaldo attempted to show off with his standing penalty.

It served him right to have it saved for being so arrogant. Its exactly like the World Cup all over again.

When he was interviewed after the match I couldn't help but think is this what football is about when you become so good, do you have to show off with fancy skills to stay at your best.

Overall a good game although as much as it hurts me to say Chelsea deserved to win,  I would rather the cup came back to London then Manchester.

Stockdale set for Fulham Move.

Stockdale on Fulham Move!

22 year old Darlington keeper David Stockdale is set to join Fulham for a fee in the region of £500,000.

Stockdale who kept 20 clean sheets last season to push Darlington  into the playoff finals where denied Promotion after loosing on penalties to an in form Rochdale at Wembley.

"The deals 95% agreed and it's good for Darlington as they're getting a decent deal out of it and good for me to develop my career."

"I`ve been to have a look round at Fulham and the goalkeepers there are just unbelievable so it will be a challenge to prove that I'm as good, but I'll fight for a place."

"You've got to set your sights high. Look at Joe Hart at Manchester City. He went there from Shrewsbury a few years ago and has established himself, so you never know."
Earlier it emerged that Roy was looking to make an offer for Man City goalkeeper Isaksson, and the club has yet to confirm who will leave and who will stay which they had revealed by now last season (17/05/2007) so we can expect this to be published any day.

Fulham intrest for Isaksson

It has appeared in the press today that Fulham reportedly want to keep Man City keeper Isaksson here in England.

Isaksson has had interest from Turkey after confirming he will be leaving City. Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is reportedly talking with the Keeper about a move to London.

All I would like to know is where will that leave Keller, I am more than happy with his performance last season and I don't think this is the sort of player Hodgson needs to replace.

Sylvain Legwinski may retire!

The ex Fulham and current Ipswich Town midfielder has admitted that retirement may be an option after he failed to sign a new contract keeping him at portman road. Another option was for him to return to his home country France to play.

The 34 year old started only 9 games last season and suffered from a metatarsal injury.

Legwinski told reporters "There are one or two clubs that might be interested in me or maybe it may be the time to retire from football"

Legwinski played 5 years at Fulham and was a key player in our first seasons in the premiership it would be a shame for him to retire from football so early. He worked magic at Fulham and I personally believe he can do for many years to come.

Johnny Haynes statue.

After looking on the Fulham official message board I have seen many fans calling for our £20,000 prize money to be used to provide a Johnny Haynes statue.

This will keep Fulham ledgend Johnny in the hearts of every Fulham fan after his tragic death 3 years ago.

To add your name to the online petition follow the link below.

"Johnny Haynes, as one of the finest players of his era, was of constant interest to other football clubs, which contributed to the pressure which led to the demise of the

£20-per-week maximum wage applied to the game until 1961. Fulham chairman Tommy Trinder had boasted that Haynes was worth £100 a week, not expecting that the

£20 pay cap (equivalent to £1200 in 2005) would be abolished. When it was removed, Trinder paid up without complaint to make Haynes the first footballer to earn £100

per week. The Riversiders famously turned down an offer of £80,000 from AC Millan for "The Maestro" that would have been over double the record for a transfer at the time

and would have made Haynes the best paid player in the world" - Source - wikkipedia.
